Geocaching for Jesus

April 1st, 2009 by Todd Mace in Games, Social Networking, Web/Tech

The other day I went Geo-caching with my iPhone. My girls and I were looking through one Geo-cache and noticed a lot of cool goodies, we started to trade different items that were in the Geo-cache. It dawned on me while I was there, that it would be a great idea to put little biblical quotes of encouragement or small children’s bibles in the different Geo-caches that we visit. Just another way through the use of technology to spread God’s word. If you have ideas on this type of ministry give your comments.

Life As A Computer

January 2nd, 2008 by Todd Mace in Games, General

I ran across some good humor that really illustrates how dependant we are on our God, while computers are dependant on humans to adjust and to run. Though sometimes I think it would be nice if life would be as easy as a computer.

If Life Were Like A Computer:

- You could add/remove someone in your life using the control panel.
- You could put your kids in the recycle bin and restore them when you feel like it!
- You could improve your appearance by adjusting the display settings.
- You could turn off the speakers when life gets too noisy.
- You could click on “find” (Ctrl, F) to recover your lost remote control and car keys.
- To get your daily exercise, just click on "run"!
- If you mess up your life, you could always press "Ctrl, Alt, Delete" and start all over!

Second Life Ministry!

November 30th, 2006 by Todd Mace in Games, Social Networking

I know most of you have probably heard about the game "Second Life". But I wanted to share some idea’s about this virtual world that you may not have thought about before. Second life and the gaming industry has become a multi-billion dollar industry. This opens new opportunity’s for community fellowship, which many say will drive the future of evangelism. With many possibilities for online ministries, this virtual world has opened doors to people that would have never given someone the time of day. Second Life, is a virtual world, where one can experience most of the things we face in our world today. One can plant a church, like many have done already or conduct bible studies. The growth in Second Life has reached 1 million members and is still growing rapidly. If you haven’t experienced this virtual world, I recommend signing up for a free account and get your feet wet. Remember this virtual world is no different than real life, people interact the same way, and they respond the same way. Ministry is the same no matter what environment. What you will find different is an openness that your probably haven’t seen before in most.
