Online Tools
For those ministries that can’t afford Adobe Photoshop or able to hire a creative ministries director. I have two online services that will brighten your day and lighten your pocketbook.
1) Sumo Paint - is online application that runs in the browser, (no installs) that mimics Adobe Photoshop or Gimp.
2) Web 2.0 Domain Generator – is online tool that creates creative names that have a Web 2.0 twist. Use this service to come up with a name for your ministry.
Non-Profit Management
I’m sure you have heard about CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems in the business world before. In the non-profit world there is not much out there to help out with membership, the customer equivalent. CiviCRM is an open source product that can help non-government, non-profits deal with donor management, fundraising, event registration, tracking and membership management. For those that are using Drupal or Joomla CMS, there are tools to interconnect into the content management system as well.

Demographical Analysis
During Kent Shaffer’s talk yesterday I learned about some demographic software packages that helps ministries find their relevant niche in their community. They have several software packages that profile geographical area’s and congregational survey’s. Think of this as census material designed for making ministries relevant. I hope to get my hands on some demo copies to be able to ascertain more information on these products. Ministry relevance is very very important and something like this is probably required if you are going to be successful in your area.
