Web Evangelism Resources
Best Christian web evangelism, outreach strategy and church ministry blogs and newsletters – A good list of blogs and online materials surrounding online ministries. See if you recognize anybody in the list.
Yonkly
Since we are talking about micro-blogging, I should also mention Yonkly. This is a similar service to ShoutEm, except it’s focus is more on monetization and customization. You also have the ability to add your own domain name to your micro-blog. They have free and paid based micro-blogs that you can use for your ministry.

ShoutEm
“Ning for Twitters” is how a fairly new micro-blogging service called ShoutEm describes itself. One can send text messages, share links, photos, and include geo-location based content. There is also wide range of mobile device support. I would recommend micro blogging services to anyone that wants a simple way to network and communicate without all the complexity of other social networking sites.

Gospelr
Gospelr is a ministry-microblogging service (like Twitter) for the Christian Community. They have Twitter and mobile phone integration. Use it for prayer requests, announcements, scripture sharing or just sharing those random thoughts. I would say this service is more designed and a target for Christian to Christian sharing.

Bible Reading Plans
Since it’s a new year, I thought it appropriate to post a site that has some new ways to read the entire Bible in a years time. BibleYear.com gives you the ability to choose your favorite translation and language and the ability to choose when you actually start the reading plan. I especially liked the Chronological and Historical reading plans, this seems to give a story line to the reading plans.

Live Forum
Online forums have been around a long time and until now the way you use them hasn’t change as well. Tangler.com has created an easy free service to create live interactive forums on your website or blog. The setup and signup process is very easy and makes one think that forums are a new thing by putting a web 2.0 twist on it. This could be another way for ministries to create discussions around topics and instigate collaboration for their ministry.

Live Blogging
With everything else on the web offering a LIVE feature, then why not Blogging. Coveritlive.com is probably the premier site to offer good live blogging. It works great during live events or meetings. I see more of use in the business world or for the commercial blogger’s but I guess it would be useful for just about any type blog out there. The interactive features and the easy way to publish audio/video to the site allows Cover IT Live to add some excitement to most dry blogs out there. As far as ministry potential, this service could be used for conferences, sermons, religious events or just for the personal blogger’s. I may give them a try some day myself.

Commodity: Religion
The future of Religion as predicted by Ted Peters a professor at Pacific Lutheran Seminary in 1980 gave a glum outlook of what Religion will look like in the future. Materialism will overtake our minds and thus religion will just become another commodity in a materialistic society. It’s amazing to me how accurate his predictions have become. People go to and from between churches or religions shopping for what interest them and thus we are bound by the whims of newness and so called biblical innovations. I’m not saying this is necessarily a bad thing, but something to watch for; since so many have been enslaved by their human ego and not allowing Jesus to be the focus in their lives.

Shoutlife
Think of Shoutlife as the Myspace of social networking. It’s a Christian community that offers a safe and clean environment for people to connect with other like minded. This is another social networking site where ministry can happen, just one more to add to the list.
Shoutlife puts it this way:
ShoutLife.com is a community / social networking website that offers free profiles with complete customization, unlimited photos, private/instant messaging, chat, blogging and more. Our goal is to provide a safe and clean, easy to use community environment with the features you love. At ShoutLife.com, you can connect with your friends as well as amazing music artists, authors, comedians, organizations and more.

Online Ministry Links
A great blog and resource for online ministry links can be found at the eQuip Blog by the For Ministry website. I have found them in the past to be a great place to begin looking at online ministries and finding others with similar interest.
